Welcome

Hello and thank you for visiting my EdTech blog today!

This blog is dedicated to sharing some of my teaching with technology adventures as I deliver tips and tricks, and share resources, related to technology integration in K-12 classrooms to help you with your own adventures!

This, 2015-2016, school year I am in the final year of completing my Master of Education at Brock University, Ontario, Canada. As I finish writing my thesis, I will be dividing my time between several projects that have me engaged with K-12 classroom technology integration:

  • I have the pleasure of working as an Education Technology Consultant for two schools this year in the Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB). In this role I am working with a number of grade 1-8 teachers, aiding with the continued integration of technology into their teaching practices.
  • I am continuing with my role as a research assistant for Dr. Debra Harwood on her SSHRC funded 'Crayon & iPads' research project, investigating literacy meaning-making processes in early years children (ages 0-6) in ELKP (kindergarten) and day care classrooms. Data collection involved working with and observing early years teachers and classrooms, both with and without iPads present. As data collection has now ended, current project goals are related to continued data analysis and dissemination.
  • I am a private tutor, always seeking out new ways for technology integration in my tutoring sessions. Currently I have one client, who is in grade 8, and our use of technology is presently focused on using technological tools for research gathering and organization. We are currently using Evernote, a free web-based tool designed for note taking, organizing and archiving, to help with research projects and presentations across subject disciplines that she is working on.

*Watch for a post on using Evernote in the Classroom - coming soon!*
